The combination of a high pressure system and a trough over the area gave the Big Apple a mix of sun and clouds on Saturday, and conditions remained unseasonably cold as afternoon temperatures only reached the upper 40s. It was the ninth straight day in which afternoon highs were below-normal.

The cold air is expected to remain in place for Sunday, and we will have many more clouds to deal with. Afternoon temperatures will only reach the low-to-mid 40s.

Looking ahead, we'll have mostly cloudy skies on Monday and Tuesday with a slight chance of a shower. Temperatures will be in the mid-to-upper 40s. Skies then clear-out for Wednesday, but, it will remain quite chilly. Highs will be around 40. Thanksgiving is looking bright and blustery, with a high of just 35 degrees.
