A high pressure system over the area gave the Big Apple bright sunshine and light winds on Sunday, but, conditions remained on the cool side as afternoon temperatures were only in the mid 50s for the second straight day.

Monday and Tuesday will be a completely different story however, as a pair of storm systems are expected to move through the region. The rain could be heavy at times during the afternoon hours on both days, and some locations could see an inch or more of rain. Temperatures will remain in the 50s for Monday, but, we'll warm into the mid 60s on Tuesday.

Looking ahead, expect skies to clear-out for Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will be in the mid 50s to near 60 degrees. Our next storm system makes its way into the area on Friday. Some moderate-to-heavy rain is possible in some locations. Look for an afternoon high of 56 degrees. Expect colder conditions on Saturday and Sunday.
