New Yorkers saw gray skies, areas of fog, and spotty drizzle throughout the day on Saturday, and afternoon temperatures stayed below 70 for the first time this month.

The clouds are expected to stay in place through the morning hours on Sunday, but, we should see the sun peek out during the afternoon. We will also see conditions warm-up and become more humid as temperatures make their way into the upper 70s.

Looking ahead, Columbus Day (Monday) will be mostly cloudy with an afternoon high of 70 degrees. We'll then warm-up for Tuesday and Wednesday, and more sunshine is likely as well. Temperatures will rise into the upper 70s. Our next storm system makes its way into the region on Thursday, and some areas could see a good deal of rain. Highs will be in the mid 70s.
