Saturday began on a gray and damp note in the Big Apple, but, skies did brighten later in the day and temperatures reached the 80s for the fifth straight day.

We'll get a break from the wet weather for the next few days, but, conditions will be turning hotter and a heat wave is possible. In fact, a Heat Advisory will go into effect beginning at 10 AM on Sunday and stay in place through 8 PM on Monday. During that time, heat index values of up to 100 degrees are possible, so, be sure to take it slow, get into an air-conditioned building, keep hydrated, and check on family members, neighbors, and pets.

A few showers and storms could bring some relief on Tuesday and Wednesday, but, it will remain quite warm with temperatures in the upper 80s.

LAST HEAT WAVE: JUNE 30-JULY 3, 2018
