A high pressure system off to our northwest gave the five boroughs sunny and dry weather on Sunday, but, it remained on the cool side as afternoon highs were at below-normal levels for the sixth time in the last seven days. The winds were an issue as well, as gusts in excess of 25mph were seen in parts of the area.

More sunshine is in store for Monday, and the winds will be lighter as well, but, temperatures will once again be at below-normal levels.

Looking ahead, expect temperatures to increase over the next several days. We'll start the week out in the 40s, but, we could see afternoon highs in the 60s by Friday. Conditions are looking dry for the most part, but, a shower or two is possible on Tuesday and Thursday.
