A strong storm system that has been crossing the country is set to bring periods of rain to NYC on Friday. The storm is also pushing warm air northbound so our temperatures will hold close to 50 overnight and possibly hit 60 degrees on Friday. Meanwhile, rain will be on an off through the day. We expect between 1 to 2 inches of rain to fall through early Saturday morning. Friday night there may even be a few rumbles of thunder. With heavy rain expected, some street flooding is possible.

Rain will end Saturday morning and then temperatures will begin falling. We'll likely start the day in the 40s by end the day in the 20s. Once the cold arrives, it sticks around for several days. Other than being cold, our weather will be quiet most of the time through next week. The only exception is a quick moving system on Tuesday that could bring some light snow.
