A high pressure system off to our south gave the five boroughs sunny and dry weather on Sunday, but, it remained very cold as afternoon temperatures were below-normal for the fourteenth straight day. It was noticeably less windy however, so, it did not feel as frigid as the last few days.

Monday will be a totally different story though, as a storm system is expected to move through the region. A few peeks of sun are possible in the morning, but, as we make our way into the afternoon hours, the clouds will settle-in, and we could see some light snow or freezing rain move through. The storm system will only be a minor inconvenience though, as accumulations should remain below one inch. Temperatures will be below-normal once again, but, we should finally reach the freezing mark for the first time since Christmas Day.

Beginning on Tuesday, temperatures will be returning to more seasonable levels. Temperatures will gradually make their way into the low and mid 40s, and we could even see 50 by week's end. Conditions look dry for Tuesday, but, the umbrellas will be needed for the second half of the week.
