With clear skies our temperatures will easily settle into the upper 20s overnight. Those clear skies will mean sunshine as we head into Thursday. Winter officially begins at 11:28am on Thursday and it will certainly feel like winter. At that point temperatures will be in the 30s with afternoon highs near 40 later in the afternoon.

As low pressure approaches from the west our temperatures will begin to slowly climb into Friday. Highs will be in the 40s on Friday and then 50s on Saturday. Showers will hold off until late Friday night but occasional rain will continue into Saturday.

Our forecast for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day is a challenging one with multiple scenarios being presented by our forecast models. Our official forecast is for mostly cloudy skies on Sunday and a period of rain or snow showers late Sunday night into Monday, Christmas Day.

Follow the holiday, it'll turn colder again for the rest of next week.
