Outside Trump Tower in Manhattan, elected officials and activists took in some civil disobedience Friday during the Trump inauguration, with police arresting two city council members.

Compared to news coming out of Washington of broken store fronts and police pepper-spraying protestors, there was a relatively quiet morning outside Trump's New York home.

During the inauguration, more than a dozen people chanted and called the new president a fascist.

Brooklyn council members Jumaane Williams and Carlos Menchaca, along with a number of advocates and some of their staffers, came to the protest site in a highly-choreographed arrest.

They held a press conference and said they will resist the Trump administration from Day One, before they walked into Fifth Avenue and blocked traffic by sitting down in the street.

Police warned them they would be arrested if they continued to sit in the street and block traffic, but the protestors refused, leading to their arrests.

Thursday night, thousands of people turned out to Columbus Circle to protest the Trump inauguration.

Saturday, the Women's March on Washington takes place, and hundreds of thousands of people are expected to protest the new administration.
