Valarie D’Elia checks out perhaps the cheapest transatlantic airfare you will ever see in this Travel With Val report.

Here’s a rare D’Elia’s Deal that might easily get you in the mood for a summer trip to Ireland and Scotland.

“You can get a $65 dollar fare if you only want to have your carry-on," says Lars Sande of Norwegian Air.

But the one-way airfare with tax included, from Norwegian Air, originates from three regional airports, one of which is Stewart International, just 60 miles north of New York City.

"Not everybody wants to go to JFK or Newark; they want an efficient airport,” Sande says.

The first of four routes originating from Stewart will be taking off mid-June to Edinburgh, followed in early July by Belfast, Dublin and Shannon.

The low fare carrier will debut a cost-efficient 737 with 189 seats on a total of 10 routes, split between Stewart, Bradley in Hartford and T.F. Green in Providence.

If you can snag the limited $65 fare in the eastbound direction, which is on sale now, it will be a no frills flight.

“If you want to pay for an assigned seat and a checked bag, if you want to buy a meal, etc. you can do that as well,” Sande says.

Once the thousands of rock-bottom introductory fares run out, Norwegian says passengers can still bag a bargain, as low as $99 one way from New York. The introductory fares on the return trip from Europe will be 69 Euros or pounds with taxes extra.
