The city's subway chief fielded some questions and gripes about the subway on social media.

Transit Authority President Andy Byford opened up a Q&A forum on Twitter for an hour this morning.

While he largely steered clear of tweets with some attitude, he did address a number of issues ranging from delays to platform accessibility.

On the heels of reports that the MTA lied about causes of 10,000 train delays, Byford also answered a question about the agency's portrayal of performance information.

Regarding platform accessibility, he said that one of his priorities is to conduct a survey into the cost of adding elevators to stations.

And he also spoke about those finicky metro cards, which might be swiped in the future.
