Another Manhattan crosstown bus is becoming a Select Service line.

Starting tomorrow, the M79 will become the sixth Manhattan line where riders can board from any door after paying the fare at sidewalk machines.

The MTA and the City Department of Transportation say SBS service is designed to cut loading times and speed up the commute.

In 2015, nearly 15,000 riders used the M79 every weekday.

A year earlier, the line was awarded the Pokey Award by the Straphangers Campaign for being the city's slowest bus.
