We're learning more about federal railroad safety recommendations sent to transit agencies before this month's Long Island Rail Road crash in Brooklyn.
Dozens of people were injured when a Long Island Rail Road train hit a bumper block at Atlantic Terminal.
It entered the station traveling at least twice the 5 mph speed limit.
The memo suggested engineers be in constant communication with other crew members while entering a station.
The LIRR says it was in the process of implementing the recommendations in the memo the day of the accident and that they now require a second crew member be in the cab with the engineer while entering a station.
The FRA also cited last September's deadly New Jersey Transit train crash in Hoboken that killed one person and injured more than 100 others.
