With the Second Avenue Subway set to open for New Year's, officials are hoping the line provides a boost to local businesses.

Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney says some of the area's stores that were forced to close are now set to re-open.

Some business owners complained they lost money during the years of construction.

But with the grand opening right around the corner, officials hope the line will start paying dividends.

"The construction stage was very difficult on the residents and the businesses," said Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney. "Many of the businesses had to close down. We tried to help them all we could, but there was hindered access to them.

"Hopefully, whatever business they lost from having that construction, they'll get that all back and them some because now people from all over the city will be able to get here in 10 minutes now," said Dottie Herman, CEO of Douglas Elliman Real Estate

The new stations are also making their debut on the official subway map.

Starting Wednesday, more than 12,000 in-car maps and a 1,000 large station maps will include the Second Avenue line.
