Gov. Andrew Cuomo is getting transit emergency response teams ready for Tropical Storm Hermine.
The MTA has cancelled most weekend work and increased staffing levels to focus on storm preparations.
Crews are out inspecting pumps and drains throughout the tunnels in anticipation of flooding.
Trains are being moved to Coney Island and the 207th Street Yards in Manhattan to protect against rain damage.
City officials also say wind conditions will be closely monitored, with the chance that bridges and tunnels will close if wind speeds become dangerously high.
They also warn that Hermine may cause service delays and even cancellations.
