Trains are rolling along the tracks below Second Avenue, marking another milestone for the upcoming subway line.

The MTA says Track Geometry Cars that check for rail safety and stability are now moving along the line from 63rd Street to 96th Street.

This comes after the agency began testing third rail power, as NY1 reported earlier this month.

Officials said they're still on track to open three new stations by the end of the year.

"There's a lot of people spending a lot of hours on a weekly, if not daily, basis prioritizing things to make sure that we're focused on that December 31 date. But you're not there until you're there," said MTA Chairman and CEO Thomas Prendergast.

The map below shows the first phase of the new line. The new Q train will extend service up to 96th Street in Manhattan and run to Coney Island.

The MTA is dusting off the W train to replace the Q train in Queens. It will run from Ditmars Boulevard in Astoria to Whitehall Street in Lower Manhattan starting on November 7.
