The MTA is rolling out some new electronic maps it says will make it easier for 2 and 5 train straphangers to follow their routes.

The city's transit authority said Friday that the maps are slated to be installed on 2 and 5 trains in the coming months.

Instead of showing route information for just one of the lines, the new maps will combine information for both lines.

The lines vary in thickness based on the route in service.

Illuminated lights will indicate upcoming stops, according to the MTA, while a flashing light will show the current stop.

On portions where the 2 and 5 Lines share stops, illuminated lights will overlap on both the red and green lines.

The MTA said the improvements are part of Governor Andrew Cuomo's initiative to modernize the transit system.
