The Niagara Falls Water Board approved a contract to fix the busted water main on 47th Street, but the repairs won’t be started until Tuesday.

Alden-based CATCO Construction has completed its initial site assessment to replace segments of the 36-inch transmission line that ruptured earlier this week.

The bad news? Some of the parts needed to make that fix won’t be available until mid-January. That means some customers will continue to have reduced water pressure for a few more weeks.

Water pressue has been restored to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after five days of pressure so low, staff had to use a bucket brigade to flush toilets.
