After a series of “stranger danger” incidents in Buffalo, a local coalition is calling for action to stop the epidemic.

The Coalition for the Prevention of Sexual Abuse says after three incidents this week alone, more needs to be done to protect children and teenagers in the city.

Organizers want the FBI database on predator profiles to be more accessible to communities so residents are made aware when a sex offender is released from prison and moves into a neighborhood. They also want more community action groups and police patrols in neighborhoods where incidents have occurred.

Further, they’re encouraging parents to be more vigilant when it comes to monitoring their children’s social media accounts.
