Mayor Eric Adams recently unveiled his executive budget for 2025. While the plan restores many of the cuts he proposed last year, it maintains cuts to city libraries and parks — slashing the Parks Department budget by $55 million.

Advocates say this will result in the loss of over 600 jobs, and are calling for a reversal of the cuts.

Chair of the City Council’s Parks and Recreation Committee, Shekar Krishnan, and the executive director of New Yorkers for Parks, Adam Ganser, joined Annika Pergament on "The Rush Hour" Friday to discuss the impact of the cuts on city parks.
