The Giants have named Dave Gettelman as the team's new general manager.

The 66-year-old spent 15 seasons as a Giants executive and was with the team during their last two Super Bowl wins. He then became the Panthers GM for four years.

Gettelman was named executive of the year in 2015 when Carolina made it to the Super Bowl, but he was fired in July of this year.

He replaces Jerry Reese, who was fired earlier this month after 11 seasons.

The team is planning a formal announcement Friday morning.
