The New York Knicks agreed Saturday to trade star Carmelo Anthony to the Oklahoma City Thunder in a multi-player deal, an Associated Press source confirms.

The Knicks will get Enes Kanter, Doug McDermott, and a draft pick, according to a person with knowledge of the deal.

The person spoke with The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the trade had not been announced.

Anthony agreed to waive his no-trade clause to complete the deal, which was first reported by The Vertical.

The 33-year-old had reportedly told the Knicks recently he would be willing to waive his no-trade clause to be dealt to one of multiple teams that included the Thunder and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The trade comes just a day after the Knicks said they expected their All-Star forward to be at training camp Monday.

The ten-time NBA All-Star had been with New York since the Denver Nuggets traded him to the Big Apple in February of 2011.

In nearly full seven seasons with the Knicks, Anthony average 24.7 points, 7 rebounds, and led the league in scoring for the 2012-2013 season.

But the Knicks have faced pressure to trade him for years as the team has struggled.

Former Knicks' President Phil Jackson spent the latter part of his time in New York making it clear he wanted to move Anthony. But a deal was difficult because the star forward has two years and about $54 million left on his contract, along with the ability to decline any trade.

Anthony had long maintained that he wanted to stay in New York, but the constant losing and a chance to play with a talented lineup convinced him it was finally time to go.

After making the postseason each of his first ten seasons, he has been on the sidelines the last four years and said at the end of last season his priority was a chance to win. He would not have that in New York, where the Knicks are emphasizing youth and have little proven talent with which to surround Anthony.

Now, Anthony will join Paul George and reigning league MVP Russell Westbrook in Oklahoma City.

Anthony will see his old teammates soon: The Knicks open their regular season at Oklahoma City on Oct. 19.
