The Knicks introduced their new general manager on Monday.

Scott Perry will serve in Steve Mills' old role. Mills is replacing Phil Jackson as the team's new president.

Mills says Perry will be given room to make decisions and recommendations.

The first big question facing the new leadership is what to do about star forward Carmelo Anthony.

Mills says they're talking to teams about a trade, but hasn't ruled out bringing him back either.

"If there's an opportunity that works for Carmelo and works for us, then we'll look at some kind of trade. But we also feel that if Carmelo could easily be a part of our team next year," Mills said.

"We're aligned in so many ways. This is, we're talking about having a young team that's going to play energetic, that's going to compete on a nightly basis. So I'm excited about that," Perry said.

The front office shakeup comes weeks after Jackson and the team said they mutually agreed to part ways.

The team never made the playoffs during Jackson's three years in charge.
