Derek Jeter's bid to buy the Miami Marlins has reportedly been accepted.

According to Bloomberg News, the group led by the Yankee legend and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush won the auction to buy the baseball team.

Jeter and Bush were initially competing against each other before joining forces.

Bush ran for the Republican nomination for president last year.

His brother, President George W. Bush, owned the Texas Rangers from 1989 to 1998.

The $1.3 billion deal still needs to be approved by 75 percent of current owners.
