Alex Rodriguez donned the pinstripes one last time Friday and made a key contribution in his final game.

A-Rod hit an RBI double in his first at-bat.

He finished the game 1-for-4.

The Yankees went on to win 6-3.

Rodriguez also got a special treat in the top of the ninth inning. Manager Joe Girardi let him play third base for one at-bat before subbing him out to a raucous ovation from the crowd.

Before the game, the Yankees held a ceremony to honor Rodriguez. But the weather rained on his parade, and the game didn't get going until about an hour later.

Rodriguez has been a fixture in the Yankee lineup since 2004, but he announced on Sunday he would transition to an off-the-field position with the team.

His tenure is marked by the 2009 World Series title, as well as a lengthy suspension for performance-enhancing drugs.
