Former Mets' catcher Mike Piazza's Cooperstown calling is nearly complete.

Piazza met with fans in Cooperstown on Saturday, along with fellow baseball star Ken Griffey, Jr., who is also being inducted this year.

The two sluggers are slated to officially join baseball's greatest legends when they are inducted into the Hall of Fame on Sunday.

Piazza ranks third on the Mets' all-time lists for home runs and RBIs. He also holds the record for most home runs ever hit by a catcher, with 396.

Piazza says his time with New York was nothing short of "Amazin."

"The one thing I love about Mets fans is that it's tough being in the same town as the Yankees, you know, with obviously all their World Series and their accomplishments. But there are no better fans," Piazza said during a press conference Saturday.

"As a ball player, to go to New York and be somewhat successful is truly an amazing part of my career that I'll always remember," Piazza added.

Piazza's jersey will forever be draped in Mets' lore.

The Amazins' intend to retire his number 31 in a pre-game ceremony next weekend.

He is slated to become the second Mets player to have his number retired, joining Hall of Famer Tom Seaver.
