The Giants and Jets both picked defensive players from Ohio State with their first round picks in the NFL draft.

Eli Apple was the 10th overall pick in the draft for the Giants.

The 20-year-old is from New Jersey.

It's the first time since 2011 the Giants have taken a defensive player with their first pick.

Then, with the 20th pick, the Jets took Ohio State linebacker Darron Lee.

Gang Green has not picked an offensive player in the first round since Mark Sanchez in 2009.

With the first overall pick, the Rams took quarterback Jared Goff.

Rounds 2 and 3 of the draft take place later tonight.

The final four rounds will be Saturday.
