Donald Trump has officially been nominated for president by the Republican Party following a state-by-state roll call at the RNC in Cleveland. Zack Fink filed the following report.

While there were rumors that anti-Trump forces may try to disrupt the formal nominating process, in the end, it went pretty smoothly.

Following protocol, each state announced the awarding of their delegates, with New York, Trump's home state, delivering the votes to clinch the nomination.

"It is my honor to be able to throw Donald Trump over the top with the delegate count tonight with 89 delegates," said Donald Trump Jr., Trump's son.

Trump later thanked the crowd for nominating him with a brief video message.

"Today has been a very, very special day, watching my children put me over the top earlier," he said. "The party seal, I mean, doing what we did, getting the nomination, I'll never forget it."

The most fiery speech of the night was delivered by New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who was passed over by Trump to serve as his vice presidential nominee.

Christie: Answer me now. Is she guilty or not guilty?
Crowd: Guilty!

The crowd followed suit, chanting, "Lock her up!"

Adding a more compassionate tone was Trump's daughter Tiffany, the only daughter from his second marriage.

"Whatever he does, he gives his all and does it well. His desire for excellence is contagious," she said.

Clinton's Twitter account was active throughout the night, with the presumptive Democratic nominee tweeting a gif of a conversation she had with late night host Jimmy Fallon.

But the night really belonged to the Trump children.

"Congratulations dad. We love you!" Trump Jr. said.

Tuesday seemed to go much better than Monday, when a faction within the party threatened to deny Trump the nomination. Trump has now fought that back, and will make his acceptance speech Thursday night. On Wednesday, we will hear from the Republicans' vice presidential candidate, Indiana Governor Mike Pence.
