A murder suspect mistakenly released from Rikers Island last month has been rearrested.

The manhunt for 26-year-old Christopher Buggs begain in early March.

Buggs was being held without bail while awaiting trial for the 2018 shooting death of Ernest Brownlee at a Brooklyn deli.

Buggs had been sentenced to 30 days of time served for an unrelated criminal contempt case, but on his paperwork, that sentence was erroneously listed as the final disposition of his murder case.

Four corrections officers at Rikers Island were suspended. The investigation is ongoing.
