Actions from Rudy Giuliani in 2020 have led to another indictment.

What You Need To Know

  • Former mayor Rudy Giuliani faces another set of charges for his role in trying to overturn the 2020 election

  • Giuliani is one of 18 defendants charged in a new sprawling indictment by the Arizona attorney general

  • She is accusing them of a scheme to convince fake electors to overturn the Arizona election results

“We’re here because justice demands an answer to the efforts that the defendants and other unindicted co-conspirators allegedly took to undermine the will of Arizona’s voters during the 2020 presidential election,” Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes said.

“America’s mayor” is facing new felony charges in Arizona — including conspiracy and fraud — of his role in a fake elector scheme to try to overturn the 2020 election results.

The Arizona fake electors were also indicted along with other Donald Trump confidantes, like his former chief of staff Mark Meadows.

The indictment lists 11 names, but another seven defendants’ identities, like Giuliani’s, are redacted.

The Arizona attorney general’s office is keeping those names hidden until those individuals have been served.

Trump is not charged but described as an unindicted co-conspirator.

The indictment makes it clear one name is that of Giuliani, calling him “mayor.”

According to the indictment, he pressured Arizona officials to change the outcome of the 2020 election. And was responsible for encouraging Republican electors to falsely vote for Trump.

This is the second indictment for Giuliani related to his role in the 2020 election. He was indicted last year in Georgia.

On his radio show Thursday, the former mayor briefly mentioned his legal troubles.

“You represent me in the criminal cases, which are now starting to span. Arizona now has an interest and somebody else, I can’t remember. I think New Guinea,” Giuliani said.

But Ted Goodman, a political advisor to Giuliani, sent NY1 a statement, saying in part, “It’s unfortunate to see so many so-called ‘leaders’ who are willing to eviscerate our entire justice system in their quest to take down the biggest threat to their grasp on power — President Donald Trump and anyone willing to take on the ruling regime.”
