WASHINGTON -- The Senate is holding crucial confirmation hearings with Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh this week.

Kavanaugh's nomination is beset with questions regarding how he would handle any potential case involving President Trump and the Mueller investigation.

There are also questions regarding Roe v. Wade, health care, gun laws and other issues.

Compounding the political strife, Democrats say the hearings should be postponed until the Senate has the chance to properly vet thousands of pages of documents related to Kavanaugh's career in government and in the courts.
