Mayor Bill de Blasio was in unfriendly territory in Brooklyn Thursday night for a town hall meeting in Sheepshead Bay.
The mayor is not very popular there. It is an area that voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump in the presidential election last year.
But those who showed up were more concerned with local issues like stop signs.
The idea of a constitutional convention came up, and the mayor strongly urged voters to reject the ballot proposal.
"You should see a Constitutional Convention as a danger," de Blasio said. "I wish I didn't have to say that, but ever since the Supreme Court of the United States said that anyone could spend whatever money they have on an election, we can guarantee that this Constitutional Convention election would be awash in money."
De Blasio also addressed bigger issues, like storm preparedness in waterfront communities.
This was his first town hall since winning the Democratic primary.
