Gov. Andrew Cuomo is asking the Army to rename two Brooklyn streets that honor Civil War confederate generals.

The governor sent a letter Wednesday to Acting Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy, asking him to remove the names.

He also called out President Trump by name, writing that white nationalists and neo-Nazis must be denounced for what they are.

The two streets, General Lee Avenue and Stonewall Jackson Drive, are part of Fort Hamilton. As a result, it is up to the military to change the names.

The Army rejected a request from elected officials earlier this month, saying the name changes would be "controversial and divisive."
