The president's ongoing feud with the news media took a turn to the wrestling ring Sunday morning.

President Trump posted a doctored clip of himself body slamming a person whose face was replaced with the CNN logo.

The original video is from ten years ago, when Trump appeared at WWE's WrestleMania 23 and attacked Chairman Vince McMahon.

It is not clear who made the video, but it was posted from Trump's official Twitter account.

The official @POTUS account later retweeted the video.

"It is a sad day when the president of the United States encourages violence against reporters," CNN said in a statement.

The statement also said Trump is "involved in juvenile behavior far below the dignity of his office. We will keep doing our jobs. He should start doing his."

An adviser responded that "no one would perceive that as a threat. I hope they don't.''

White House homeland security adviser Tom Bossert also tells ABC that he thinks Trump's "beaten up in a way on cable platforms that he has a right to respond to.''

White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said last week Trump "in no way, form, or fashion has ever promoted or encouraged violence."

The president has ramped up his attacks against the news media lately.

He also took jabs at the media while honoring American military veterans at a "Celebrate Freedom" concert at the Kennedy Center in Washington, just days after posting personal attacks against the hosts of MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Twitter.

Trump is in New Jersey, where he is spending the rest of the weekend at his golf club. He is expected to return to Washington on Monday night.
