President-elect Donald Trump chastised the Boeing corporation over plans for a new Air Force One.

The aircraft manufacturer was tapped by the Obama administration to build a new plane for future presidents, but Trump says it's costing taxpayers too much money.

Trump sent a tweet about it Tuesday morning.

Following up on that tweet, he said he would cancel that order unless the company slashes its prices.

"Totally out of control. It's going to be over $4 billion for Air Force One program, and I think it's ridiculous. I think Boeing is doing a little bit of a number," Trump said. "We want Boeing to make a lot of money, but not that much money."

The president-elect will be back on the road today in North Carolina, the latest stop on his nationwide "Thank You Tour."

Next, he will head to Iowa and Michigan.

The Trump team may announce his pick for Defense Secretary today, retired General James Mattis. The 66-year-old retired in 2013 after serving as commander of the U.S. Central Command.

To be confirmed for the position, Mattis would need a special waiver from Congress. Retired military officers are barred from becoming secretary of defense within seven years of leaving active duty.
