New York's minimum wage goes up Saturday, and the state is taking steps to make sure New Yorkers know about it.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo has launched public service announcements, parts of which are seen in the video above, which are running in English and Spanish across the state.

Starting Saturday, businesses with at least 11 employees will have to pay them $11 an hour, and then another $2 each year after that.

By the end of 2018, New York will be the first state in the country to have a $15 minimum wage.

More than 2 million people are expected to benefit from the increase, including more than 860,000 in the city.

The governor's office said workers who do not receive their raises tomorrow should call the state Department of Labor hotline at 1-888-469-7365
