At least three incumbents appear to have lost their bids for re-election in primaries for state races in New York City districts.

On the Lower East Side, NY1 has declared Yuh-Line Niou the winner in a race among six candidates vying for the 65th Assembly District seat that Sheldon Silver held for 40 years before he was convicted on federal corruption charges.

As of early Wednesday morning, with 100 percent of precincts reporting, Niou has 31.8 percent of the vote.

Cancel was the incumbent in the race. She won a special election to fill the seat in April.

Incumbent Manhattan Assemblyman Guillermo Linares also appears to have lost his primary in the 72nd Assembly District. NY1 is declaring challenger Carmen De La Rosa as the winner of that primary.

As of early Wednesday morning, with 100 percent of precincts reporting, De La Rosa has 53.2 percent of the vote.

In Queens, NY1 is declaring challenger Brian Barnwell as the winner in a primary in the 30th Assembly district against incumbent Assemblywoman Margaret Markey.

With 100 percent of precincts reporting as of early Wednesday morning, Barnwell has 63.8 percent of the vote.

Markey has represented the 30th Assembly District since 1998.

Meanwhile, NY1 has declared Marisol Alcantara the winner in the race to replace state Senator Adriano Espaillat, who is leaving his seat in the 31st District in Upper Manhattan to run for Rep. Charles Rangel's seat in Washington.

As of early Wednesday morning, with 99 percent of precincts reporting, Alcantara has 33.3 percent of the vote.

Alcantara was Espaillat's hand-picked candidate.
