A Staten Island councilman is the first city elected official to back Donald Trump's campaign for president.
Republican Joe Borelli announced on Facebook that he's backing the Manhattan billionaire.
In his post, Borelli said Trump is the only candidate that can win in November.
He says Trump will be able to work with elected officials across the country.
Borelli says he has asked the state Republican chairman to be designated as a delegate at the Republican National Convention in July.
