The suspected mastermind of the terror attacks in Paris may have been killed in a police raid on an apartment where he was believed to have been holed up. This, as the Islamic State group targets New York City in a new video. NY1's Grace Rauh has the story.

The Islamic State group behind the terrorist attacks in Paris is threatening New York City in a newly released video.

It features images of Times Square. It's a reminder, police say, that the city remains a top terrorist target. A spokesman for the NYPD says there is no current or specific threat to the city at this time. But, he added, the department will remain at a heightened state of vigilance.

This comes after French police conducted an early morning raid on an apartment north of Paris, in the suburb of St.-Denis. The man suspected of planning the deadly terror attacks in Paris that left 129 people dead was thought to be inside.

Abdelhamid Abaaoud, an Islamic State militant from Belgium, was not among those arrested by police after the raid. He could be among the dead.

"A body riddled by impacts was discovered in the building's rubble," said Paris prosecutor Francois Molins. "The state of the body cannot at this time allow us to identify it."

At least two people were killed and eight arrested after an hour-long shootout, in which police fired 5,000 bullets. And the raid may have come just in time. The Paris prosecutor says that by storming the apartment the police successfully neutralized a terror cell that was ready to act.

"These actions confirmed us once again that we are at war," said President Francois Hollande. "A war against terrorism which itself has decided to bring war to us."

The French president is urging citizens to resume their normal lives and refuse to give in to fear.
