Pope Francis is officially an honorary resident of New York City.
Mayor de Blasio issued the Pope his own municipal ID card on Friday.
In a statement, the mayor said the card represents inclusion, compassion and unity - all values that Pope Francis has embraced.
The pope joins about 540 thousand New Yorkers who own the municipal ID card, which allows cardholders access to a range of city services and cultural institutions.
