With so many entertainment choices New York City has to offer, it can be difficult to make a choice. Look no further. "On Stage" host Frank DiLella has curated a list of “must-see” shows this week, directing you to the best of Broadway, off-Broadway and beyond.

On Broadway…

The 2023 Tony Award nominations were announced Tuesday.

On the musical front, the film to stage transfer of “Some Like It Hot” starring the fabulous duo of J. Harrison Ghee and Christian Borle, “Kimberly Akimbo” featuring must-see performances by Victoria Clark, Bonnie Milligan, and Justin Cooley, “& Juliet” with breakout star Lorna Courtney and theater favorite Betsy Wolfe and Michael Arden’s brilliant revival of “Parade” with musical theater powerhouses Ben Platt and Micaela Diamond.

On the play front… do not miss the Tony nominated productions of Tom Stoppard’s “Leopoldstadt” and “Fat Ham.”

Plus the revival of “A Doll’s House” featuring Tony nominees Jessica Chastain and Arian Moayed is exceptional.

 

“Champion”

Over at The Metropolitan Opera, bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green takes on real-life boxer, the late Emile Griffith, in Terence Blanchard’s latest work “Champion.”  

The opera shines a grand spotlight on the closeted hatmaker-turned boxing star.

“Champion” is playing at The Met now through May 13.

“Raise Your Voice: A Cabaret for a Cure”

“Raise Your Voice: A Cabaret for a Cure,” benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, is taking place Sunday night.  

The annual event is conceived by actor and cancer survivor Rob Morean.  

The show will feature performances by Broadway regulars Andy Mientus, Jay Armstrong Johnson, Nic Rouleau and more.
