With so many entertainment choices New York City has to offer, it can be difficult to make a choice. Look no further. "On Stage" host Frank DiLella has curated a list of “must-see” shows this week, directing you to the best of Broadway, off-Broadway and beyond.

“Grey House” on Broadway

Two-time Tony Award-winner Laurie Metcalf returns to Broadway in the thrilling and terrifying new play “Grey House.” Metcalf leads an all-star cast including Emmy-winner Tatiana Maslany and Paul Sparks. The show centers around a couple who find themselves in an isolated cabin in the mountains and follows the couple’s interaction with the strange inhabitants in the home. “Grey House” is directed by Tony Award-winner Joe Mantello and begins performances on Saturday night at The Lyceum Theatre. Opening is set for May 30.

 

“Oliver!” at New York City Center

Moving a little further uptown to City Center. The 1960 musical Oliver!” returns to the stage courtesy of The Encores! Series. The classic is based on Charles Dickens’ beloved novel “Oliver Twist.” The musical stars Raul Esparza as Fagin, Lilli Cooper as Nancy — and fresh from starring as young Winthrop Paroo in “The Music Man” opposite Hugh Jackman - Benjamin Pajak as Oliver. The revival plays May 3 to May 14.

 

“Days of Wine and Roses” at Atlantic Theater

On the off-Broadway scene, theater stars Kelli O’Hara and Brian d’Arcy James are teaming up for the new musical “Days of Wine and Roses.” The show is based on the 1962 film and features a score by Adam Guettel and a book by Craig Lucas — both of whom collaborated with Kelli on the critically acclaimed hit — “The Light in the Piazza.” The show is directed by theater favorite Michael Greif and shines a spotlight on a couple falling in love in New York in the 1950s and their ongoing struggle with alcohol. “Days of Wine and Roses” begins performances on May 5 at The Alantic Theater Company’s Linda Gross Theater. Opening night is June 5.
