Each week, NY1 takes a look at what's happening in the theater world on its weekly show "On Stage." Here's host Frank DiLella with a preview of this week's episode.

This weekend on "On Stage":

  • “On Stage” host Frank DiLella will sit down with six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald to chat about returning to the Broadway stage for the play “Ohio State Murders.”

  • Plus, Tony Award winner Jefferson Mays is currently taking on a one man version of “A Christmas Carol” on Broadway. Mays will stop by the “On Stage” studio to talk about his latest holiday project.

  • Also, Jordan E. Cooper, the writer and star of the exciting new play “Ain’t No Mo’,” will sit-down with DiLella to chat the genesis of the show and making history as the youngest playwright on Broadway.
  • *Note: Cooper sat down with DiLella right before the closing notice was posted for “Ain’t No Mo’.” There is a current movement to save the show from closing on Dec. 23.
