Kristen Shaughnessy has been an anchor/reporter at NY1 for more than 20 years. She was named to Irish America's Magazine's Top 100" list and was chosen as one of the "Top 50 Irish American Power Women and "Top Media 30." She was also honored as Hofstra University's Alumni of the Month.

Kristen covered breaking news for nearly 20 years and was at the World Trade Center during the September 11th terrorist attacks. She had to interrupt her live report and run to safety when the first tower came down. College professors use that report in their classes.

A six-part series that she wrote and edited for the 15th anniversary of the attacks was awarded second place for "Best Documentary" by the Associated Press.

Kristen has appeared in the movies "The Manchurian Candidate," "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," and "Crown Heights."

Prior to NY1, Shaughnessy worked as an anchor/reporter at WGNY radio in Newburgh, NY and at NewsCenter 6 in Poughkeepsie.

Her husband, Joe Bush, is the Head Golf Pro at Shackamaxon Country Club. They have two daughters, Jamie and Kara.
