One would-be Long Island City concertgoer says she can't get a refund for a Janet Jackson concert that's indefinitely postponed. She turned to NY1 For You for help. Our Susan Jhun has her story.

Sarah Atwood purchased tickets last August to see Janet Jackson in concert for her best friend's birthday in February. Unfortunately, for both of them, the birthday came and went without seeing the concert.

"I was really, really looking forward to getting to see her this time around and this experience has kind of soured me," Atwood said.

A frustrating experience, Atwood says started when the original concert date was rescheduled to August 15.

Luckily, she and her friend could make that date but then later Atwood says she heard Janet Jackson was indefinitely postponing her concert to an undetermined date. This time, Atwood assumed she would be able to get a full refund from Vivid Seats, the company from which she purchased the tickets.

"They told me no, the only way I could get my money back was to sell them to another person which I then said to them why would I sell concert tickets to another person for a concert that who knows if it's ever going to happen?" she said.

Atwood says she wants to get the $265 she paid back, but more importantly she wants Vivid Seats to be accountable.

"I just think it's really just a bad business practice to sell seats and then based on the semantics of indefinitely postponing not getting a refund, because Vivid Seats has stated that if Janet Jackson were to cancel the tour they would refund," Atwood said.

We reached out to Vivid Seats numerous times for comment but didn't hear back. However, right after we contacted Vivid, Atwood says she received a call from the company and was issued a full refund.

"Huge thank you to NY1 for coming in, because had they not contacted Vivid Seats, I do not believe that I would have had such a successful end to my story."
