A section of one Brooklyn road made for a rough ride until drivers contacted NY1 For You. Susan Jhun filed the following NY1 for You report.

Inflating news to those traveling through the intersection of Bogart and Stagg Streets in East Williamsburg, where a growing hole was a big blow to drivers.

"A lot of accidents come into this section," driver David Danny said in our first report.

"I've seen numerous cars hit it, and that hole has been there for more than two years," resident Synthia Santiago said in our first report.

Two weeks ago, NY1 for You told viewers about the hole, which drivers said they believed wasn't simply a pothole but rather a sinkhole that continued to grow, even though it was repeatedly patched up.

At the time, we contacted the Department of Transportation and the Department of Environmental Protection, and the two agencies inspected the site. Since then, the hole was filled to smooth the roadway surface.

DEP has scheduled work to determine if any of the buried water and sewer infrastructure is not operating properly. In the meantime, DEP will continue to monitor the condition of the roadway until the root cause is determined.

"It’s good for the drivers, for the neighborhood, people who drive everyday around here," said Jhon Palaguhchi, who owns a business in the neighborhood.

We will keep you updated.
