NEW YORK - The state has rolled out a new pilot program called the "Excelsior Pass" that allows fans to attend sports games in-person.

A QR code scan confirms a person has been vaccinated or recently tested negative for coronavirus.

The progam was developed with IBM and will be used during events at Madison Square Garden and Barclays Center.

It was tested at the Nets' home game last Saturday.

It's similar to a mobile airline boarding pass.

You can store it on your phone or print it out.

State officials hope it will help fast-track opening stadiums, as well as theaters and other similar businesses.
