Thousands of kids from across the city come together for a day of fun and games.

The New York City Collaborative of the Boys and Girls Clubs hosted its inaugural field day on Randall's Island Thursday.

3,000 kids from 8 different clubs spent the day participating in different activities like potato sack races, kickball, arts and crafts, and more.

"We want our young people to practice health habits and we also want them to know that they are a part of something bigger then themselves," said Dominique Jones, the executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of Harlem.

The Boys and Girls Clubs in the city serve more than 45,000 kids offering programs that promote academic success, good health and wellness habits, and strong leadership skills.
