BROOKLYN, N.Y. -  The city says a building that partially collapsed Thursday in Brooklyn will be torn down.

The vacant building located at 526 Logan Street in East New York buckled around 4 p.m.

Nearly two dozen people were forced to leave neighboring homes as a precaution.

No one was hurt.

People who live nearby say they've been complaining about the house since last year.

“I knew it was going to happen like this. I know they were going to wait until the last minute. You know so. Just have to do a better job. Do your job. That’s it," said one resident.

The Buildings Department issued a full vacate order for the building in April 2018.

It claims the city’s housing department was securing permits for demolition when the collapse happened.
