Some college bound seniors in Brooklyn symbolically sent off their applications Thursday with some major fanfare.

It was "Apps Away Day" at Brooklyn Prep High School. For the second year, seniors dropped the name of their dream school in a mailbox in front of students in younger grades who cheered them on. More than 100 students submitted more than 1500 applications.  As part of the ceremony, they watched a video of the moment many of them hit the submit button on those applications.

"Watching all my friends, like, break through the gate, it was like we were succeeding together," said student Nayelis Lopez.

Students also handed out roses to thank the school staff who stayed late to help them file their applications.
